Found this amazing project (via Make) from Felice Varini called “Cercle et suite d’eclats” [huge panorama photo here], where he projected circles onto the Swiss village of Vercorin, then painted them onto houses:
There are lots of other examples of the same single perspective theme, often with circles, on his website.
